A Claw-foot For The Master

And yet another stroke of luck!
There are so many treasures to be had
at Habitat For Humanity ReStore.
You just have to have the time to browse and
revisit again and again because there
are always new things coming in.

This latest trip was a score!
We found a cute little chandelier for Sissy's room,
the boys found lots of trinkets and treasures to fill their pockets
{note to self: check the pockets before laundering!}
and Momma got a new {old} claw-foot tub for our master bath remodel.

Yes, she's a little rough but I know we will bring her back to the
beauty she once was.
I wasn't sure I wanted to include a tub in our remodel,
mainly because new tubs are a fortune, but I'm sure now!
For the price on this one, it will definitely have a place and be
worth every bead of sweat and sore muscle. My studious husband
has already found the hardware through a great site at the fraction of
the cost of most places specializing in claw-foot tub hardware.

Now to decide on how to finish the outside.

Since we haven't decided on the style
of our bathroom yet, I've been pinning inspiration
photos just to get some kind of idea of possibilities.

All inspiration photos were taken from pinterest.

We've got white on white. {LOVE this bathroom, by the way!}

Gray.

Pink.

Black.

Black feet.

Teal.

And another white but with silver feet.

So, which is your favorite?
Oh, the decision!

I just cannot wait to have a soak!

  1. Grey ( of course hehe) or the black. They showcase the tub so beautifully.

    1. I think I'm gonna wait until the last minute to decide. We haven't even decided on what we're doing in the bathroom! I think once that's done, it'll make it easier. I think. :)

  2. Hey Amber! Congratulations on your new job! You're right, it may be just what you need to give you clear focus on what exactly what direction your creativity needs to take you. It sounds weird but with less "free" time, you may naturally just use those small bits of time (outside of your family time of course) to hone in on your creative passions!
Oh, the top bathroom is my fav only I'd have some black in there, like the chandelier, the feet or even the tub black and the feet antique gold or white, then other bits of black as well. Maybe an tufted chair upholstered in black and cream? I could go on and on!
Praying you have a blessed Resurrection Day and you do great in your new job!
    Blessings,
    Missy

    1. Thank you Missy! I cannot wait to gut that bathroom. We don't even go in there (I have some antiques stored in there that need refinishing). It's so ugly. I'm sure it'll come to me when it's time. I might even find a bathroom to emulate while I'm still trying to decide. One thing is for certain.... there will definitely be some black in there! :)

  3. Lucky you. I want a claw foot tub so badly. The bad thing is we had one many years ago that we gave away because I didn't know I would want one in the future. Hubby says no to taking out the monster tub. Maybe if I whine and nag enough he will break!

    1. Well, I have had LOTS of those regretful moments with previous things that we've let go. Not in this particular house but other things we've refinished and sold. :) I'm sure if you charm your hubby, he'd probably cave. It's definitely worth a try!

  4. All your inspiration pictures are so pretty, Amber, I can't say which is my favorite. I'm sure you will make yours into a beauty.

    1. Aren't they though, Kathy?! I think I'm going to think this one through for a bit. You saw what happened with the red wall. ;)

  5. How in the world to decide? Looks like a tough job, but I know you'll make it beautiful.
Congrats on the job! I'm a few days behind. :)

    1. I think once the bathroom is under the "put it back together" phase, I might have a clearer idea of where we're going. I want to put a big 'ol window in there (none right now) and hopefully put the tub under it. Too bad it faces the street!

Come on in, the door's always open!
