On The Menu

Our first show is exactly one week from today!
I've been working on my baking
menu and schedule {even in my sleep}
because this will be our first ever
pastry booth/show.

I have to admit; I'm secretly really, really glad
I'm baking instead of gathering goods and
having to do a full boutique set up.
Those were the days!

I have managed to put my husbands
carpentry skills to work with my
pastry stands (to sell) and
we'll be finishing up on some
chalkboards this weekend.
He's also making me an
awesome counter for our pastry display
cases which I'll be skirting in my beloved burlap.

Oh yes, I will take lots of pictures.

One other thing I've been playing with is
fabric remnants and the pumpkin stems
the kindergartners picked up for me at the patch
last year.

It's amazing what a thrift store bridesmaid dress can turn into.

Now to the menu...
We'll be bringing LOTS of deliciousness!

Cakes & cupcakes (in several flavors), mini pies, big 'ol cookies,
candied popcorn, dipped pretzels, an array of candies, our
ever famous Scones in several flavors, gourmet caramel apples and
lots of other yummy goodness!

It will be a very busy week but
I do not mind being busy in the kitchen!

I probably won't post again until after
the show so, if you are within driving distance,
come to the Market!

Petunia and I will be out in the big white tent
just in front of the straw bale seating area.

Come say hi!

p.s. The chocolate cake is to die for. Just sayin'!
p.s.s. There are some very good things coming down the line.
If you come to Market, you'll be the first to know.

Preparations

There is no greater pleasure (to me) than
using my hands to create, improve or make
something beautiful.

Right now, I'm working on our home for an event,
making preparations for our upcoming show and
planning for my month at the Farm.

So many things to be grateful for and
at times it's lavender and rosemary,
two of my favorite scents, that bring
calmness to my orchestrated chaos.

Upcoming Show

With The Market on Chapel Hill just mere weeks away,
we've been working away on
some goodies going along for the ride.

Some to keep, some to sell.

Today, my Mr. constructed my pastry cases
out of old windows
which will display lots of delicious things.

I love that old rustic, been around forever, look.
The fronts of the windows still have the
metal pulls and locks and
I love them!

Another re-purpose project
are our pastry display stands.
Although the tops and bases are new wood,
the tower is recycled material from
old broken chairs and tables that
we've squirreled away for such projects.

There are still a few things to build but we are making
great progress.

It's been a long time since I've
played shop keeper and been able to set up
my "traveling boutique".

I am so ready.

This experience will be a little different though.
Pastries, cakes and candies. That shall be
my haul.

See you soon.

Are You Ready?

I wish I could say there's a crisp in the air.
Oh, I can hardly wait.

I have caramel apples, spiced cakes and other
comfort desserts on the brain.

The Market on Chapel Hill is coming
rather quickly {October 3, 2015}
and oh, the decisions for the menu!

Today, my Mr. brought his lunch box
home full of these pears putting me in
the Fall mood and wanting to put
a spiced pear something on that list.

Seriously, this photo makes me want to wear
thick socks and flannel.

I know it won't be long till we can sleep with
the windows open again.

That is my favorite time of the year.

We're working on projects this weekend.
I'll share with you in a few days.
